Short Synopsis

Between his children, whom he moved away from the war in Sudan to Cairo, and the refugee children and women he documented in eastern Sudan and Chad, a Sudanese filmmaker and photojournalist revisits his archive to reflect on two different experiences of childhood: one that found safety, and another forced into exile. Through his family’s story and the testimonies of refugees, the film explores fatherhood, war, and survival.
